Dr. Arthi Sanjeevi is a board-certified gastroenterologist with dual specialization in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy and Functional Motility Disorders. With a clinical career spanning nearly two decades, she brings deep expertise and compassionate care to her patients. Dr. Sanjeevi has been in private practice in Tampa, Florida, since 2010, building a strong referral base from across the state and establishing herself as a trusted leader in her field.
Dr. Sanjeevi earned her fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview, where she also served as an instructor in GI motility. She previously served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of South Florida College of Medicine, mentoring medical students, residents, and GI fellows. She held leadership positions such as Director of Motility and Director of Endoscopic Ultrasonography, with a clinical focus on advanced therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP, EUS, cholangioscopy, mucosal dissection, and manometry.
Her experience includes nearly a decade as a consultant in gastroenterology with AdventHealth Medical Group in Tampa and an earlier role as Assistant Professor at USF Health. Dr. Sanjeevi is also a skilled public speaker, experienced endoscopy proctor, and published author with multiple peer-reviewed journal articles focusing on gastrointestinal motility, eosinophilic esophagitis, and neurocognitive processing of visceral pain.
She has served on various professional and academic committees, including fellowship advisory and recruitment boards, and is an invited reviewer for leading journals such as the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology and American Journal of Physiology – GI and Liver Physiology. Her professional affiliations include the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). She is also an active community leader and previously served as the President and Secretary of the Florida Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (FAPI).
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Sanjeevi enjoys spending time with her husband, a fellow physician, their two teenage sons, and their two beloved Cavapoos.
Clinical Interests:
Dr. Sanjeevi cares for patients with all forms of gastrointestinal disorders, ranging from routine colonoscopies to more complex and nuanced therapeutic procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasound, therapeutic ERCP, enteral stenting, deep enteroscopy and advanced polyp resection techniques. As one of the few female gastroenterologists in the region, she is dually trained in interventional endoscopy and complex motility disorders. Additionally, she is passionate about incorporating cutting-edge technology to improve patient care.
Philosophy of Care:
Dr. Sanjeevi’s approach to patient care is straightforward. She takes the time to understand each patient’s unique circumstances and concerns, providing a comprehensive explanation of diagnoses and treatment options. She believes that the most efficient path to wellness for each of her patients involves education. Her goal is to empower every patient with a thorough understanding of their health conditions and the choices available to them.
She is thrilled to be opening her own practice this year, to better serve her patients in a personalized manner; she is holistic in her philosophy and state of art in technology, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and hiking.
